- Reverend Robinson receives Foundation for the Mid South Distinguished Leadership Award
- Hoover and Rev. Robinson received the John Wesley Award from the South Central Jurisdiction Urban Ministries Convocation
- December 17, 2000 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the church. The theme of this celebration is “Remembering the Past to Strengthen Our Future. Ms. Theressa Hoover was the 11:00 a.m. speaker. The nationally renowned Hoover UMC choir provided the music. This historical event marked the 20 years under the leadership of pastor, Rev. William H. Robinson Jr.
- Maxine West, Associate General Secretary, Women’s Division addressed the congregation at an evening service, in addition local choirs and groups from area churches provided the music.
- 25th Church Anniversary - Fred Allen Executive Director Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century, Nashville, Tennessee. Theme: Our Journey of Faith, a Ministry Without Limits
- V-8 Team Ministry Retreat – Hoover East
- Rev. Robinson, the founding pastor, retires, and named Pastor Emeritus
- Rev. C. J. Duvall was appointed Senior Pastor and Rev. I. Malik Saafir was appointed Associate pastor.
- Renovations of the church which included but was not limited to the repair of the steeple, replacement of the roof, front entry steps and redevelopment of property named “Gerald’s House” where the community garden is located. Community Gardening introduced to the church and community. The goal was to educate and train as well as provide healthy food to the community. College students and youth were recruited to work in the garden. Member, Adrea Coley, a VISTA volunteer led the coordination of the garden project.

- Rev. Dr. William H. Robinson School of Practical Theology to assist clergy and laity in exploring the intersections between social and environmental justice issues locally and globally.

- Bishop Felton E. May (Retired) was appointed Senior Pastor with two-charge appointment to Theressa Hoover United Methodist Church and First UMC-Sweet Home.
- Ironically Ms. Theressa Hoover dies December 21, 2013, 33 years after Hoover Church was chartered in her name.

- Ongoing renovations of the church sanctuary and multipurpose center.
- Renaming of the Church, Theressa Hoover Memorial UMC.
- Re-launch redevelopment of Theressa Hoover Memorial UMC.
- Launch of Project HOPE (United Methodist Women)
- Bishop Felton E. May and First Lay Phyllis May return to the Baltimore Conference
- Rev. Dr. Ulysses Washington was assigned as Senior Pastor
- Rev Dr. Ulysses Washington preaches first sermon as Senior Pastor of Hoover Memorial UMC.
- Mrs. Mona Washington becomes Hoover’s First Lady
- New Temporary Parking Lot completed
- Children’s Church School begin meeting at Gerald’s House
